World Cup Kids Party Themes & Costume Ideas

As anyone who has heard a vuvuzela knows, the World Cup 2010 in South Africa has well and truely got underway. If you value your neighbours you perhaps won't want a load of vuvuzelas around being blown in your garden. However how can you throw a great World Cup Kids party?

Here are a few ideas:

Costume: The obvious idea here is wearing the world cup jerseys and everyone has to dress in various teams. However this is expensive, even for small kids sizes. So why not dress in a traditional or stereotype costume? Aussie beaded hat, American pilgrim frontier kids costume or Kids cowboy outfit, German Liederhosen, or how about a St. George Knight tabard outfit. The list is endless, and there are so many variations for the costumes for almost every nation. It opens up the scope for both boys and girls, who traditionally dont want to dress up in football tops.

Food Ideas: Any kids party needs great simple food. And with the whole World to pick from, doing a bit of each is no problem. Pizza or pasta (Italy) will always go down well with kids, Chips (USA), Bangers and Mash (England), Cheese salad (Greece). If the weather is good get out the BBQ (Australia) Just a few, and if you want to be more adventurous for the adults, without breaking the bank, how about Fajitas (Mexico), or Sushi (Japan). Dont forget the adults! If they are happy so will be the kids.

Games: Without getting the XBox 360 out with a good game of FIFA World Cup, you should think about some easy, cheap and fun party games. You could get all the kids to watch the football and play games to do with what happens. Kids bets with forfeits due to first to score, first to get a booking, and how about prizes for similar. Win a chocolate bar etc. You have free rein here. Have fun with it!

Enjoy the World Cup, and enjoy some great food and a great kids party!
